Senior Scientist (PhD), Protein Structure – Protein function

This allows the development of innovative vaccines and products intended for use in the treatment of chronic and life-threatening diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, atherosclerosis, rheumatic conditions and infectious diseases. Conformation of proteins
The Protein Structure - Function Research Group performs biochemical/biophysical analyses of the conformation of proteins that are used in our R&D activities. Purified proteins are quantified and characterized by a broad spectrum of techniques such as functional (enzymatic) chromogenic assays, fluorescence assays, circular dichroism spectropolarimetry, SDS-PAGE, size exclusion chromatography, native gel electrophoresis, binding assays, and transmission electron microscopy.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Senior Scientist (PhD) with 10 years of relevant experience preferably both in academia and industry who will lead our Protein Structure - Function Research. A substantial part of the work will be dedicated to the development, implementation and optimization of known and new techniques. You design experiments, write and review reports, and collaborate with all project team members working on protein structural R&D. You will contribute pro-actively to technology innovation of protein analytical methods. You have a PhD degree and a strong expertise in protein expression, structural analysis and protein stability with specialist knowledge in protein analytical chemistry, and preferably with hands-on experience with structural – functional analyses of amyloid proteins/peptides. You are capable of organizing your own work, have a critical view towards your results and are precise in work and documentation. You function well in a team and you are proficient in English.
