Supervisory Board

Michael L. Wyler (Chairman)

Michael L. Wyler became chairman of Crossbeta’s Supervisory Board in October 2010. He is also governor of the Ben Gurion University of the Negev and member of the advisory board of Stichting Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek Prostaatkanker. Currently Michael L. Wyler is Chairman of the MultiQuest Group which has stock exchange activities and has (held) interests and activities in life sciences, media, such as telecom, television and publishing and internet related activities, smart grid, as well as (minority) stakes in private and sometimes public companies. In initiating and developing activities MultiQuest typically approaches strategic partners to (jointly) develop the strategic, commercial and financial structures like being the initiating partner of the Burger Kings at the railway stations, together with the Burger King franchisee and the Dutch Railways. At present the main focus is in the field of life sciences and strategic alliances.

 

Joost J.M. Holthuis

Joost Holthuis is a pharmacist (MSc and PhD) from Utrecht and Leiden University and worked for Chiron from 1988 to 1995 as head of the analytical and product development laboratories. He was founder and CEO of OctoPlus NV from 1995 till 2009. OctoPlus is active in the pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing and develops products on the base of new drug delivery technologies. During his time at OctoPlus he raised in excess of Euro 28 million of Venture Capital and successfully led the company through its IPO. During this period he was responsible for the growth of the company to 150 employees and the realization of multi-product facilities of over 5000 square meters, He also was responsible for the growth of the service business to > Euro15 million in 2008 and an > Euro 100 million out-licensing deal. Since September 2009 Joost is an independent Life Sciences entrepreneur. In addition Joost is active in boards of various industry organizations, advisory panels for the Dutch government and is a board member in two early stage companies.

 

Mark de Boer

Mark de Boer has founded, managed or worked for several early stage biopharmaceutical companies in the field of innovative novel biopharmaceuticals, which include PanGenetics, 4AZA Biosciences, MacroZyme and Tanox Pharma. At present he is Venture Partner at Index Ventures, which focuses on Drug Discovery & Enabling Platforms and Healthcare infrastructure, and holds Board positions at a number of biotech companies.
