Professor Bonno N. Bouma

Professor Bonno N. Bouma, PhD, has build up an impressive career in the past 35 years. He combined his activities as professor in the Biochemistry of Haemostasis and Thrombosis at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, with managerial positions at the University Medical Center in Utrecht and several academic positions at Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA, USA.

 

Professor Bouma is Honorary Member and Co-Founder of the Dutch Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and received the Distinguished Career Award, a Biennial Award for Contribution in Haemostsasis, of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis in 2001. Professor Bouma has been Chairman of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. He was member of numerous national and international Thrombosis and Haemostasis committees and more than 30 PhD theses have been completed under his supervision. He published more than 200 articles in peer reviewed international scientific journals.`

 

Professor Bouma is closely involved in the activities of Crossbeta Biosciences and Scientific Advisor already from before the inception of the Company.

 

Professor Philip Scheltens

Professor Philip Scheltens, MD, PhD, is an internationally renowned Alzheimer researcher, Full Professor of (Cognitive) Neurology and Director of the Alzheimer Centre, VU University Medical Center Amsterdam, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

 

Professor Scheltens published more than 480 publications in peer reviewed journals, supervised the completion of more than 30 PhD theses and trained several clinical fellows of which 3 were appointed professor. He is Principal Investigator in numerous phase 2 and 3 trials since early 90’s in mild to moderate AD and MCI.

 

Professor Scheltens is Chairman of the Alzheimer an Neuropsychiatry Foundation, Chairman of the European Task Force on Age related white matter changes, Founding Member of the International Society of Vascular Cognitive Impairment (VASCOG), Chair EFNS Panel on Dementia and  Co-founder of the International working group to Harmonize Criteria for early AD. Since 2011 he is also Scientific Director Dutch Pearlstring Initiative.

 

He received several awards and honors and most recently he became Honorary Professor of Neurology, University College of London, Institute of Neurology, Queen Square and Member of the Royal Academy of the Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
